    WELL I DONT BLAME JOHNNY BONES THOUGH GUYS… I MEAN COMMON YOU CANT FULLY TRAIN FOR SOMEONE IN JUST ONE WEEK… ESPECIALLY IF YOUR THE CHAMP… THATS TOO MUCH PRESSURE PLUS GREG JACKSON IS RIGHT IN A WAY SAYING THAT CHAEL IS COMING OFF A LOSS… AND GETS AN IMMEDIATE TITLE SHOT??? I MEAN IT MAKES NO SENCE…..FOR THE FIGHT

      wrong! jones has been training not for chael but he has been training. and chael is willing to do it on short notice. every other champ takes fights and doesnt turn down anything. jones caused them to cancel the whole event now all the fighters on undercard wont get paid. fans in that town are going to be cheesed. jones just made himself look bad in the bosses eyes the fans eyes other fighters eyes. ultimately in the long run jones just hurt his career.

    Well think about this Patrick, the UFC has spent MILLIONS of dollars promoting an event. And you’re making millions of dollars with this company, shouldn’t you try and help them, so they can continue to make you rich?

    8 Days notice? Doesn’t Sonnen also have 8 days notice? and isn’t he a 185er? And haven’t they been going back and forth on twitter with Jones challenging Chael to move up in weight? Now that Chael is doing it, Jones is backpedaling..

    Since when do fighters get to pick and choose who they are fighting anyways?

      Jon just basically said to the entire MMA fanbase and all of his sponsors “I am scared”.

        Surely he’s not scared. The message that comes across is “I don’t give a f*** about anyone but Jon Jones”

        There’s absolutely no reason to turn down the fight.

        Its damn ironic that Jackson told him, “If you take the fight with Chael it will be the worst move of your career.”

        I’m pretty sure that not taking the fight was the worst move of his career.

      Yeah Kansas, I’m just waiting for the roulette wheel to finally stop spinning. At this moment, it looks like it will be Vitor vs Jones at UFC 152 in Toronto, which is now being called UFC 151… Sigh… what a mess.

      I’m thinking to give it the rest of the week to be official before making a new poll.

      Also, it looks like the king of september tourney will only consist of 2 events now, instead of 3. Jones reall screwd things up for EVERYBODY didn’t he?

      The banner is an annual thing, so I guess Jones has until the end of the year to fix this somehow. If he’s still the champ, he will probably still be on the banner. He will probably be in a suit though, just like GSP is for this year – considering he seems to be more of a business man than a fighter these days….

        Now UFC brass the Fertitta bros are saying “Shogun” turned down the fight too, sullying his name in this mess ..

        Dudes on a 90 day no contact suspension post UFC on Fox, he legally CANNOT fight, wth is their problem??? Seems like Dana and Zuffa/co are just lashing out at everyone in frustration like a bunch of angry kids spreading collateral damage everywhere.. not handled well..

    People still have the nerve to hate on Sonnen when the guy is all heart. Jones would have easily destroyed Sonnen anyway but chose the easy way out. Where is the dream matchup fans have deserved to see a long time ago (Anderson Silva)?
    Rumor has it Silva offered to fight at this event, i’m calling b.s.
    I guarantee Dana, Silva, Ed Soares, etc. all want to improve Silva’s bad image and just put this story out there to make him seem like a “good guy”.

    Amir, I hated Sonnen’s attempts to turn this sport into the WWE, and he has majorly toned it down since talking about Anderson’s wife. I can tolerate his antics now, but I’m still not a fan of that fake smack talk. I prefer real smack talk like the Rampage/Rashad situation.

    That being said, you’re totally right in this case. Sonnen stepped up on short notice, going up a weight class, and was definitely walking into a slaughter. The guy has some balls, even if it was all about his own publicity, money, etc.. It still takes guts to walk into a beating like that.

    You could be right about the Anderson thing, but even if Anderson did choose to try and save the card himself, it was way too late for it to be considered a realistic offer.
