Well, last night’s event went pretty well, aside from losing two fights, and there were also a few puzzling outcomes which kind of made the event fall a bit flat. I have no clue what happened with Josh Neer, I am seriously entertaining thoughts that he threw that fight. His opponent was paying off at +620, and Neer did absolutely nothing except for sticking his neck into a guillotine and allowing himself to go unconscious. I’m calling bullshit on that fight, and I’m sure a whole lot of money changed hands over that one (I suspect the Rabbi may have had something to do with it)… Dodson looked great, once again proving that the little guys are capable of finishing fights. He moves on to face Demetrius Johnson for the flyweight title sometime in 2013. Of all the fights on that card, I never would have thought that Hieron and Ellenberger would put on such a terrible display. It was a chess match of sorts, and while it wasn’t completely without merit, it have very little entertainment value. Just to prove me wrong, Bigfoot proved that he did have the ability to bully Browne around in that fight. There was an issue with Browne’s leg during the fight, but that’s just the nature of trying to hurt people for a living. Great job by Bigfoot in retaining his spot in the rankings, and it will be interesting to see who Joe Silva has next for the BJJ black belt.

UFC on FX 5

We have a tie for first place between bebop2109 and lilgunned, they both scored 59 points, which is pretty good considering the event was short 2 fights. Long time dynamo in our camp botl435 was right up there in 3rd place, followed by EllisD1 right behind him in 4th. Also just a few points behind, mmayse locks up the number 5 spot. It’s interesting to see how close these scores are, and how tight this race really is.

Overall points

nomomrnickekyle extends his lead to 8 points over way2swayzee7 who retains his 2nd place position since last week. botl435 and EllisD1 bump Banned2 out of the top 5, as they occupy the number 3 and 4 spots respectively. Previously in 8th place, lilgunned breaks his way into the top 5 with his big score for this event. We’re still right at the start of the season, and nobody is out of the race just yet. Everyone is in such close proximity to each other that anything could happen, but the pressure is on the top 5 guys to try and hold on until the very end. Great work guys, and good luck next week.
