   im a fan of Andy Kaufman and his style of weird comedy, and i hope this is what Mayhem is trying to pull off.

   the problem is that in the age of the internet its gonna be very hard for him to do this type of “nutty character” without being exposed. Kaufman had the benefit of acting like a nutcase without someone going on a blog and saying “i just seen him at McDonalds today and he was acting all normal” people actually questioned his mental state for real.

   i really hope this is just shtick and not a real mental meltdown lol.

   In my opinion, Ariel was the real douche in this situation. He wanted Mayhem to come in and discuss the church thing, explain himself, etc. Mayhem didn’t want to talk about it, and instead, he was only there to promote his new movie in character.

   Ariel refused to accept that and kept pressing him to drop the act, which pissed Mayhem off. Imagine if you had Jim Carrey come in, and he went into so wacky character, but you wanted to talk about his divorce or whatever. You ask him once, twice, three times, but when you determine that he’s not up for it, you accept his decision and move on like a professional journalist.

   Picture Joe Rogan doing that interview, do you think it would have went down like that? No way, Joe might have asked him to break character once, then he would have let it be. That’s because Joe doesn’t have some kind of headline generating agenda.

   So when he didn’t get what he wanted, Ariel antagonized the guy into generating an even bigger headline – “Mayhem melts down again”.

   On the plus side, something good came out of this – go to 13:55 and watch Ariel shit his pants.

     yeah i agree that Ariel should have just went with it, its not like the added pressure was working anyways. Mayhem even mentioned about Ariel always trying to push the conversation to the unwanted questions.

     i dont know if you seen the response video from Ariel yet, but its up on youtube. i was really kinda hoping to see both Ariel and Mayhem sitting there and say “just kiddin, we got ya” because i think this is gonna just turn into a “Mayhem is crazy” thing.

     hopefully Mayhem will come out and just say that he didnt want to discus the other stuff and was just trying to hype the movie and thats why it went down like that.

       Yeah, I saw Ariel’s response, and I chose not to post it up. Maybe if he outlined what we just discussed, it would have been a worthy response.

       Instead he just basically threw his arms in the air and said, “well, I tried”. What I liked was that he did show Mayhem at least a modicum of respect, while at the same time saying “I was never frightened” and “I was about to put an end to it myself”. That dude is unbelievable… Honestly, I think he riles guys up in hopes that someone will smack him in the mouth so he can file a lawsuit within 10 seconds of it happening.

       Don’t get me wrong though, Mayhem is a crazy guy, and he was playing an even crazier character – not to mention his recent instability. Ariel knows this though, and he still prodded at him to get his precious story.
