Again.. he wont get it but heck, he’s gonna go through Bisping like he did Marquardt and then he will get a rematch with Silva..
You know while you have this poll up about ‘does chael deserve a rematch’ – well I will tell you who DOES deserve another chance… Tim Sylvia, THAT’S WHO, the guys went 7-3 from 2005 until they cut him and defended his title twice before losing it to Randy before back surgery, while injured. If anything he was dumb for not pulling out of the fight due to injury, but that’s it. Tim was the FACE of the HW division for YEARS and his overall record 27-6, is almost on par with Anderson Silva, and of his 33 fights, he ended 18 of them with KO and 3 of them with a submission. Love him or hate him, TIM THE FAT SASQUATCH DESERVES ANOTHER CHANCE!!!!
Hey man, I couldn’t agree more, you know I always defend Tim. The problem is the same thing we said about Randy. It was another time man, between Tim passing his prime and the sport passing him by, it’s pretty much done.
On the plus side, he’s made some GREAT deals for himself and the guy is a millionaire right now. Especially that deal with Affliction, that was money in the bank!
yeah i gotta agree with BV here, Timmy had his day but i think that time has past. with the beastly heavy weights in the UFC now Tim would have top be at the top of his game every time out and i dont know if his got in him any more.
Yeha his time is up but so is Matt Hughes and he is still in there, just made himself 200k in the UFC
Yeah, but Hughes still has one of the best top games in the world, assuming he can get on top. Nothing that Tim does is anywhere near the best in the world.
He was the biggest guy in the UFC, now that guy is Brock Lesnar, maybe he has the best reach? Not gonna cut it.
Seriously man, I’d be scared to see Tim back in the UFC with the HW division what it is now. I don’t even think HE wants to be back. If he can keep headlining smaller shows and make some good change without getting put in the hospital, all the best to him.
I don’t know BV.. I really think it would be fun if the UFC would just toss him in there with some of the new guys.. see how he does you know.. heck for fun anyways
even a train wreck is fun to watch.. sometimes.. lol okay I know that’s really bad taste in choice of words but you know what I mean… GOSH IT FEELS GOOD TO BE ABLE TO GET BACK ON MAN!!
if Timmy can get back to TRUE fighting shape i could see him being one heck a gate keeper in the UFC, but thats a bit crappy for a former champ and a one time feared fighter to have to deal with.
Yeah at least he’s set for life, if he’s smart this the money that is.
@BV – you get my emails buddy?
Yeah that’s true about Tim. I mean, they had Buentello in there recently, they have Matyushenko. Tim could wade around in the knee-high stuff for a while I guess.
Maybe have Tim vs Struve, that could be a good one. But anyone higher up in the division would throw him a beating these days.
Most important thing is GET IN SHAPE TIM. None of this 275-300+ BS.
hey what about the cameraman falling the other day man that production was shittty
Strikeforce Richard?
no,at the sylvia buentello fight a camerman literally fell of the ring
HAHA .. yeah that’s called “small potatoes fight org” fallout .. lolz .. it’s okay though, they do what they can with what they’ve got
kansas
the only fight on that card that was pertty good was the thales leites fight and thats cuz he got sumbitted
so ive tryed to post at the other site but it seems ive been banned,it doesnt matter i was trying to put that they suck
LOL I’m not surprised Richard… I haven’t tried to post anything there, but I’m willing to bet that I’m banned too.
That’s the difference, here we’re not banning anyone, if they want to come here and talk some shit, I won’t ban them. People are free to say what they like, whether I approve of it or not.
Of course, spamming and advertising is not allowed though.
This site is better, like ol’ school where you can post your stuff without being corrected for punctuation, grammar, and spelling .. lolz.. it’s for the FANS and CONSUMERS, not for the ELITISTS and FAILED JOURNALISTS.. lolz
Hey guys check this out… Roy Nelson and Carwin warring on twitter .. and Carwin finally breaks his silence on the steroid allegations:
Roy Nelson vs. Shane Carwin war on twitter:
Roy Nelson – “Just woke up and was reading the mma news websites and only one had real news ufc champ shane carwin steroids court case. I am surprised that athletes in mma do steroids ;( that explains body types.”
Shane Carwin: “I love Roy Nelson trying to elevate his status by talking smacks. Hopefully he is doing so on a treadmil. Some have rolls he has a bakery.”
http://twitter.com/roynelsonmma
http://twitter.com/shanecarwin
that should be a good scrap. we’ll see if Roys chin can hold up to the power that Carwin has.
Yeah, I think Roy is biting off more than he can chew here. The strength of Carwin will probably be too much for old Roy.
I’m not sure how much striking will happen, but I think Shane can take him down, no doubt. Roy’s BJJ is great when he’s on top but off his back I doubt he will pose much of a threat.
Can you picture Roy throwing up a triangle with that huge belly in the way? Doubtful….
I say Carwin get’s him by GnP after learning from his mistake against Lesnar.
LOL @ Carwin calling anyone out about cardio.
i just left a message at the dot com and the message went through. im sure before the end of the day the message will be gone and i’ll be banned too. but hopefully some of there new readers will see it before they do, and maybe it’ll be a small word of warning about how they run the site.
this is the message i left incase no one get the chance to read it lol:
“im just here to leave a message to the site admin. it is truly sad that you have found the need to ban people from this site, the same people who kept this site afloat for YEARS. there is a short list of posters who had been coming here everyday NO MATTER WHAT for the last four years, most of them have done nothing to deserve this treatment. this will be the last message i will be leaving here so no need to ban me too.
p.s. letting bruised egos and hurt feelings sway your decision will lead to some very poor decision making”
sad stuff man.
this message is just to boost my post count, cuz we do that sort of stuff round here lol.
bump. LMAO
please dont ban
lol.
lol .. your funny dude – I think Nelson and Carwin are definately going to be set on a crash course, but I don’t think it’s very smart of Carwin to come out attacking Roy Nelson’s body in turn lifting his own up in the spotlight with all these steroid allegations that have gone unanswered. lol.. kinda dumb.. someone in the Carwin camp needs to let him know that he can SHUT UP NOW SHANE. lol
Nice work RJ, ever considered being a professional diplomat?
i know i have this weird need to squash dumb argument and help the little guy from being trampled by egotistical lol.
I am against Sonnen getting an immediate title shot. the fight was NOT a close decision. Should every fighter who comes close to beating a champion get an immediate title shot, especially after he loses fair and square? of course not.
I think this is more of a topic about how hated Anderson Silva is and how badly people want to see him lose. Same as the Brock Lesnar mystique.
Let’s get Anderson and Vitor in there ASAP. I would love to see Arrogant Anderson give Vitor the opportunity he gave Sonnen in punching him multiple times. Of course, Vitor’s only enemy is Vitor and I have to hope he is mentally prepared. I think watching what Sonnen did, will give many fighters confidence in facing Silva in the future.
Well said Amir, I agree 100%. Immediate title shots should be reserved for close/bad decisions, stoppages due to accidental headbutts, etc.
You’re absolutely right about people hating Anderson too. They just want to see him lose for a few bad performances (ok very bad performances as the main event).
I WANT VITOR BABY!! How about that fight? No worry about takedowns and wrestling or lay n pray. Pure 100% stand up fight which should be exciting as HELL!
Vitor coming out strong looking for the 30 sec KO, Anderson using his elusive style trying to weather the storm to pick Vitor apart in the later rounds.
no trash talk, no BS, just two elite fighters standing toe to toe.
Now THAT’S a fight!
@Amir
I think your spot on.. really, after thinking this over for a few days, I believe you have a really good thought process on this. An immediate rematch should only be given in the case of a controversial title fight decision like Shogun V Machida – if Bisping V Hamill had been a title fight, it would have applied there too. I had Penn losing his last fight and called it before the fourth round, but everyone else in the room thought he was winning, so I guess that counts too, but IMO it’s not as obvious as say, Rua / Machida
i would like to see a rematch with Anderson and Sonnen just because i wanna see if Chael can do the same thing or if it was “just a bad night” for Anderson. the reason i say this is because Sonnen probably should be the champ right now but he got cough slippin and i wanna see if he deserves the credit im giving him or not. i wouldnt think this if Sonnen did that to anyone else but we are talking about the #1 (or #2) pound for pound fighter in the sport right now, and thats something that can elevate Chael to a height i never thought possible from him.
RJ, You make a good point about Sonnen and I wouldn’t mind seeing that fight happen again when Anderson is at 100%.
Immediate rematch? No. There isn’t too long of a line for the UFC MW title. You’ve got Vitor then it’s pretty much up in the air. Vitor should be next in line then Chael can fight the winner (assuming he wins his next fight).
yeah i can agree with that. one way or another Sonnen deserves another dance with the champ (no matter who it may be at the time) for putting up such a great performance, i mean he was pitching a shut out right up till the moment he lost.
I agree 100% that if Chael can get through his next opponent, rumored right now to be Bisping, then set him loose on the winner of Silva V Belfort.
I agree with Amir. I don’t think Fedor should get another shot at Werdum either. They lost, get two or three more wins, then come back and try.
ok so some weirdness coming from the dot com, they have added this “like this on facebook” button and now at the top of EVERY article says:
“Shonna St Croix likes this.Be the first of your friends to like”
Shonna is my wife and not only does she not care to goto that site but shes not even home to do so. something is obviously fishy here, and it bums me out that there is a link at the top of every page that takes you directly to my wife facebook page. BV could you please send me a PM on playground with arubins email addy so i can send him one and ask him to remove it. these people are really starting to erk my shit!
i was about to send the email, but decided to check again (just incase they’ve already removed it) and it was gone. i assure you it was there (“Shonna St Croix likes this.Be the first of your friends to like” was copied and pasted from there i did not type that out) so it seems to have been fixed. im not going to bother sending the email… silence in golden in some cases lol.
Looks like the UFC has answered this one for us, regarding Chael and Silva .. rumor has it they will fight in a rematch in either the big end of year New Years event, or on Superbowl weekend… http://bleacherreport.com/articles/442267-ufc-new-years-bash-hosted-by-yours-truely …… buckle up kids, it’s going to be a REMATCH!
Ok, so then we’re looking at superbowl weekend because newyears isn’t happening for Anderson. Vitor is just up in the air now, fighting some yet to be named opponent. Then it will be another 6 months before he gets a shot at the winner of Silva vs Sonnen. Sigh…
So basically, like around this time next year we MIGHT get to see Vitor fight for the title. As if nobody will get injured in the span of a year.
Yep – that’s about it, and that’s if Vitor WINS his next fight.
It’s almost becoming a trend with the UFC, rematch after rematch. It doesn’t even make sense IMO. He got submitted. I can see having a rematch if it was close, but it wasn’t. I don’t consider beating him for 4 1/2 rounds then getting subbed close either. Uh I hope this doesn’t happen.
